UENR IS ARRANGING FRESHERS INTER HALL GAMES & ATHLETICS.: The Sports and Recreation Directorate is hosting Freshers’ Inter Hall Games and Athletics in conjunction with the University’s halls of residence for new first-year students. The project aims to recruit talented students capable of being nurtured and participating in UENR University teams in different sports. The programme will help build the University’s athlete recruitment and development pipeline by offering an early pathway to participate and identify athletes. Apart from the competition, the games will foster interaction, teamwork and friendship, as well as a sense of belonging among freshers from diverse backgrounds. The programme also helps to strengthen the University’s dedication to the welfare, fitness, recreational and holistic education of students.
TEAM UENR RAMPS UP TRAINING FOR THE MAIN GUSA GAMES AT UEW: Team UENR is working on heightened preparation for the upcoming Main GUSA Games, which is to be hosted by the University of Education, Winneba (UEW). The competition will be a valuable platform for the University to evaluate its sporting achievements and capabilities in the Ghanaian public universities. Based on the successful results of the Honda Invitational Championship and the WAUG Games in Nigeria, UENR is looking forward to the possibility of repeating this success at the national level. The Games will be the university’s biggest challenge to being competitive, technically prepared, as a team and in terms of athlete development. UENR hopes to build its own profile in university sport, and to claim medals in various sports through disciplined training, effective coaching, athlete welfare support and institutional support. The Sports and Recreation Directorate continues to nurture talent, promote inclusive sport and sustainable high-performance sport programmes. Team UENR will be looking to make an impact at the upcoming Games and continue to build the reputation of the University as a sporting institution with the support of University Management, staff, students and the wider University community.
